How Stress Therapy Training Can Help Your Work

The upcoming 5-day Somatic Stress Release Immersion with Dr. Scott Lyons is only 3 weeks away, and we have 4 spots left. This training is so valuable to us, and we are honored to be holding space for this sort of teaching at LYFE. Scott’s teachings go well beyond the yoga studio — they’re applicable to every one of us in every walk of life. Equipping yourself with the tools to recognize, deactivate, and restore from stress is paramount.

Who is the Somatic Stress Release training good for?

This training applies to everyone. The knowledge gained and skills learned over these five days will not only allow you to care better for yourself, but for those around you.

Activists
Being an activist is a challenging role where one can often feel at battle. Bracing your physical body to take up the cause can bring unneeded stress into your life. De-stressing yourself and your movement will allow the message to be heard more clearly.

Trauma Facilitators, Social Workers, Therapists
In your life of caring for others who have experienced trauma, pain, and suffering, tension and stress can be omnipresent. Dr. Scott Lyons is a clinical psychologist and has incorporated his science and medical background into the Somatic Stress Release training with the explicit intention of equipping therapists with the caregiving skills they need to manage and release stress while in session.

School Teachers
We believe school teachers are the heroes among us, with their continual dedication and presence in our children’s lives. Managing so many kids at once, day in and out, is an incredible feat of strength and ability. This training will further empower you to handle the kids’ emotions and needs while caring for your own state of being.

Yoga Teachers
So often we meet new students who come to class for the first time with the same issue: “I want to feel less stressed,” and we work intentionally to create and guide classes that bring our students to a place of release and restoration. In addition to his clinical psychology practice, Dr. Scott Lyons is a seasoned yoga teacher, and easily applies this theory and methodology into class outlines and teaching styles.

Normal People
What, you’re just a normal person dealing with stress? And you want to come to this training? ABSOLUTELY! Dr. Scott Lyons’ program is based in science and practiced in life. It’s easily transferable to your day to day, and equipping yourself with this knowledge will not only alleviate stress in your life, but allow you to care for those in your family and your community.
