Listen to Your Heart

After living 19 years in the USA, my family and I moved to Melbourne for a different perspective, a change. I had run yoga studios in Philadelphia and New Jersey, so when we moved here I wasn't planning on even teaching yoga anymore. However my heart had other ideas...

“Listen to your heart. Listen to the simple wisdom inside of you." — Prem Rawat

I was on a Goddess Retreat in Greece with my dear friend and mentor Sue Elkind from Dig Yoga in the USA. We were deep in meditation on the space between things (chanting to Bhuvaneshvari , she whose body is the world— see mantra below), opening my heart to the possibilities of what was next for me when I envisioned creating a space that welcomed diversity, offered different modalities, included spiritual awareness, that celebrated the joy of life and welcomed everyone to come experience the true meaning of yoga... connection and belonging.

In July 2019 we opened our doors wide and an amazing tribe of teachers walked in with me, pouring their hearts and souls into our collective vision for this space called LYFE.

The many hearts who have walked through our doors are part of that special energy. They have lifted us up through many unexpected challenges, restrictions and new ways of offering our services. Loyal and generous they are dedicated to the evolution of LYFE.

Thank you to our wonderful Yoga Teachers, my chosen tribe, who bring such joy, and encourage me to keep following my heart.

At the heart of LYFE is the love for our community. You are why we keep showing up, and why we are still here. Community is the only way we will continue to thrive. If you like what we are doing and want us to keep creating together, please think about becoming a member of our tribe too.

With gratitude and love,

Mantra Practice
Aum shrim hrim shrim bhuvaneshwarayai namaha

Pronounced: Ohm shreem hreem shreem bhoo-van-esh-war-yaay nah-mah-hah

I bow down to the great mother of the world, may I feel the embrace of she who holds all matter and space.

Bija Practice
Hrim is the bija (seed syllable) of earth, space, and the manifest world. It is a deeply grounding bija.

To invoke any goddess you can chant Hrim once or, more powerfully, Hrim Hrim Hrim.
Although its energy connects generally to Shakti, Hrim is particularly associated with Bhuvaneshvari.
