Green Tara
I have been chanting Om tare tuttare ture soha imagining green light radiating from my heart out to our country… and to those the world to all who are grieving, who need help and relief. Chanting or humming helps calm and soothe us and those around us too.
The meaning of Om Tare Mantra (Tara Mantra) is greater than words can express. Green Tara is the protector or “Mother of all Buddhas” and this mantra is used to attract help, compassion, strength and healing. Tara is sometimes referred to as ‘rescuer’ as she hears the cries of those experiencing misery, and rescues us from the outer fears, and the inner fears too. Chanting this mantra helps cultivate compassion and courage, and ultimately increases the love and compassion we give to others.
🎶 OM TARE TUTTARE TURE SOHA 🎶
TRANSLATION (from Deva Premal, full description on YouTube):
OM – the Cosmic Sound that keeps our universe together
TARE – the Sanskrit invocation of Tara, which in Buddhism is the feminine aspect of compassion that resides within all sentient creatures in the universe
TUT and TURE – the seed syllables that activate this centre of compassion within us
SOHA – similar to Amen, or "let this be so," the Tibetan form of the Sanskrit word Svaha
There's no right or wrong way to chant, but it sure feels good and more powerful when we're together. We have teachers who will chant with you... join Deb Langley on Wednesday night, or Tina Tainui on Thursdays, or special guest Heidi Trigar lifts the vibration to the next level with Kirtan.
Love, peace and joy,
Denise
