Navigating Life

In February, amidst the vibrant energy of India, I found myself flying kites and contemplating the dreams that this year might unfold. Fast forward to the present, where my husband and I have embarked on a new adventure by purchasing a Sprinter van — a vehicle that symbolises our journey to explore the vast landscapes of this great country, immerse ourselves in nature, and continue dreaming up our best life.

In yoga, the metaphor of a vehicle is pervasive, echoing the Bhagavad Gita's image of Krishna on his chariot. Hindu mythology further emphasizes this symbolism, with major gods having their own vahanas or vehicles. Shiva has Nandi, his bull; Vishnu has Garuda, his eagle; Durga has her lion or tiger; Saraswati has her swan, and Ganesha has his mouse, Musika.

Musika, the mouse, serves as a companion to Ganesha, assisting in overcoming obstacles by presenting strategies to navigate challenges with agility. While Ganesha represents strength and resilience, Musika embodies quickness and elusiveness, complementing each other in their journey.

Contemplation:

  1. What are your usual strategies for creating transformation in your life?

  2. What vehicles support you in making change?

  3. What does it look like to go beyond what you have dreamed?

At YOGA LYFE, it takes many vehicles to thrive, with a special mention to OUR MEMBERS. Your support enables us to foster community, invite amazing teachers, and gather inspiring guests who guide us through the physical and spiritual transformation that yoga invites. A heartfelt thank you to all our wonderful members.

As I continue to throw my dreams into space like a kite, I'm excited to see what comes back.

Love, light, and laughter,

xx Denise
